Missouri S&T Residential College

Each Residential College community provides a residence community for students to share not only a living space but also a true community feeling, complete with classroom and study areas. Each Residential College community also has a character all its own, with specially designed programs and opportunities. But, all communities have the same primary goal; To provide an environment in which students are surrounded by peers with whom they have much in common and with whom they can achieve mutual success.

I. Mission Statement

The Residential College (RC) mission is to enable students' development of their intellectual interests and creative talents in an environment that relates learning with application of knowledge. Students are members of a learning community that challenges them to take the initiative in shaping their education, to participate actively in classes and in extra-curricular programs, to think critically and to engage with the University community as well as the global community.

Toward this end the, Residential College (RC) Learning Communities offer:

  • Culturally diverse, four-year living-learning groups that link students' classroom experiences with intellectual, artistic, social and cultural activities in their learning community

  • Innovative initiatives that are continually renewed and reshaped by a faculty strongly committed to teaching, and that engage students with knowledge, persons and programs that are tied to the learning community's intent.

  • Frequent opportunities to undertake creative work within the scope of their chosen learning community.
